Real Families: A Family Shoot at Kew Gardens by Schryver Photography

Happy Friday to you all! I hope this lovely Friday finds you well and you are looking forward to the weekend. Today on Boho Life we are back with our family feature and we have some lovely images from Schryver Photography to show you all today. ‘Katy and Alex chose to have their family photo shoot in Kew Gardens in London, a location where they love to spend time as a family with their beautiful baby son, Rocco. The shoot took place back on a hot, sunny day back in July – summer feels like so long ago now..!’

A few words from Helen the Photographer…..

After a quick coffee and a chat to get to know each other a little bit, we headed to the large palm house for some shots in amongst the foliage. It was boiling hot in there so we didn’t stay long, but it was worth it to get the shots of Rocco in amongst the palms, and then of him enjoying a crawl about on the lovely cool floor. We spent the rest of the time exploring the gardens, finding some gorgeous backdrops including waterfalls, huuuge trees and tons of brightly coloured flowers. We had a break for lunch – the light in the orangery cafe was pretty amazing so I couldn’t resist getting a few shots of Rocco in there too!

I particularly loved how Katy and Alex were really keen to get plenty of shots of the three of them as a family. I know it’s pictures like this that our kids will treasure when they grow up. So often I meet Mums and Dads who aren’t so keen on being photographed themselves – they can usually be persuaded however, and the results are so worth it!

A few words form the family……

We were really keen to work with Helen as her style of photography was just what we were looking for – natural and fun, rather than staged or over-directed. We chose a location that Rocco was familiar with and enjoys being in – plus Kew Gardens offers so many great photo opportunities, as seen in the finished results. Helen was really relaxed, flexible and so generous with her time. She captured an amazing variety of shots and we’re really happy with the finished photographs.
