Good Morning everyone. I hope you are all fine and well. For all those parents out there are you having fun and enjoying the school holidays so far? I have managed to take a few days off with Fearne and we have been crafting, eating ice-cream, visiting family and in general having a lot of fun. Just how school holidays should be.
Today on Boho Life we have this lovely snowy family shoot brought to you by Alex Knight Photography. It seems such a long time ago since all that snow fell but it really wasn’t, it was only a couple of week. I know how crazy thinking that now, as I am looking out of the windows to a sunny and bright blue skies of Yorkshire. A big thanks to Alex and The Dawson Family for sharing this very epic snowy shoot with us today.

A few words from Alex Knight Photography
The shoot was taken on a beautiful snowy day at Temple Newsam in Leeds. I had commented on the Facebook page that it was a shame the snow was a little unexpected and no shoots were planned for today as it would make a perfect backdrop for a family shoot! Maria contacted us and volunteered her family for a shoot. The Dawsons have had many shoots with us including Easter Egg Hunts, trips to the Seaside, Autumnal walks in the Dales etc so a snow shoot would be a perfect addition to their collection!
Unfortunately Sophie had to man the office but Alex hurried around gathering his gear, collecting sledges and wellies from the shed and off he went! Luckily the roads were clear enough for everyone to get there but had put most people off travelling and as you can see from the pictures, the place was empty!

A few words from The Dawson’s
I was stuck at home on a snow day when I spotted a comment on the Alex Knight Photography facebook page about how great it would be to have been able to do a snow shoot, and it snowballed from there! A few hours later we were having the best Photoshoot we have ever had. The woodland setting was perfect – the snow was still falling and nobody else was around, it was truly beautiful. This was Pollys 1st experience of snow and Alex captured the moments perfectly, her 1st steps, her 1st touch & her 1st sledge ride. Zoe loved the sledges that Alex had brought along, and she loved the freedom of being able to just play in the snow – no posing for shots, just lots of fun! Alex captured all the fun – snow angels, snowmen, sledge riding. Alex was more than happy to get down in the snow to get the best photos he could.
And the fun wasn’t reserved just for the children – one of my favourite pictures is of a snowball fight between my husband & I – it started with one cheeky snowball and Alex captured it all. We now have a large canvas of this on our wall!
When Alex and Sophie showed us the photos from the shoot we loved them – the children had the disc on repeat for the evening! He had captured all the fun of the shoot, the beauty of the location and the still falling snow & created stunning photos that we will cherish forever.
I feel very lucky that we were able to experience a snow shoot with Alex, we have had many shoots with Alex & Sophie – all resulting in amazing photos and I can’t wait to see what ideas they come up with for future shoots.
