We are starting off the week with a big old slice of cake, and who dosen’t like cake? It seems that everyone is cake mad at the moment so what better time to bring out a book all about cake decorating than now. It’s a fabulous looking book that brings you the basics of cake baking, from different recipes such as Lemon Drizzle Cake and Salted Caramel Cake and then shows you how to make things such as Ganache and Meringue. It then talks you though 40 wonderful decorating ideas for cakes, cupcakes and cookies.
I think my personal favourite is the The Ombre Cake, which looks just like a work or art! I am a huge fan of Charlotte White’s creations. You may recognise her more from Restoration Cake. I had the pleasure of tasting some of her creations a few years back and she is one truly talented baker and designer.
Charlotte White is the creative mind and busy hands behind bespoke cake decorating company Restoration Cake. Taking inspiration from history, fashion, and art, she dedicates herself to creating edible art for her high-profile customers. Aside from designing and supplying bespoke cakes, Charlotte teaches regular cake decorating classes in London and writes for selected wedding magazines. This is Charlotte’s second book for RPS, the first being ‘Burlesque Baking’.
