Hello everyone on this cold November Tuesday. Hopefully this gorgeous summer family photography will brighten up your day. This family photo shoot was held in the Chiltern countryside over the August bank holiday weekend. I felt very honoured when this lovely family contacted me and explained how they would be travelling down from Yorkshire for the weekend and wanted to have a photo shoot with me during their trip.
As part of my service to the families who book me, I plan and offer styling advice to help plan the session and ensure the photographs are the best they can be. Each family is unique and I aim to customise each session to reflect their personalities, interests and style. I was asked for photographs that would represent who they are as a family so I asked them lots of questions to get a feel for who they were and what they liked to do together then planned the session from that.
They told me that they loved to escape to the countryside and to run and jump about and really enjoy being together. I was inspired that this shoot would have a feel that cosy autumn days were on the way. We planned the clothes to reflect this and to tone in with the location I had selected.
A few words from the family
We had been wanting some family portraits taken since the birth of our second son but really wanted to get away from that whole “posed” traditional Dad stands up, wife sits and the children are spread at her feet etc. After some internet searches and asking around we discovered Anna and decided that although she lived at the other end of England we would travel down for the shoot. We are so glad that we did. Anna was friendly, professional and full of great ideas. Before we even got down she had contacted us a few times to get a real idea of what we wanted and the “Pinterest” inspiration board she put together was a fantastic planning tool (it helped us decide what to wear, what colours to choose etc). Our son, Zach is so full of smiles until a camera points at him but Anna managed to coax some lovely expressions from him and he had a lot of fun into the bargain! The end results are stunning and exactly what we were hoping for, Anna captured our boys personalities and our family day out perfectly and we recommend her services to everyone
