A few weeks ago I shared with you the ideas and iinspiration behind my new bathroom. I put together a mood board to get a better idea of what we were looking for in regards to the bathroom. Obviously a lot of stuff you see across the internet is more of a dream situation but we managed to get our version and the finished result can be seen here. With the bathroom done we can now look at the next two rooms upstairs that need to be decorated, my office and the nursery.
Our house has 3 bedrooms, one of which is more of a box room, it’s big enough to be an office or a very small single room. When we moved into the house 7 years ago the small room became my office, the biggest room was our bedroom and the middle-sized room was the spare bedroom. After a few years my use of the office became more and as the business grew I just had too much stuff. Because of this two years ago we decided to get rid of the spare room and turn that into my new office and Nik had my old small office (a step up from working on the dinning room table) I love my current office its roomy, bright yellow and a nice space to work. However with the imminent arrival of our baby boy (2 months to go eek) we have had to re look at the rooms we have available.
So basically I’m going back in the small office (Boo) and baby Hood is getting my lovely roomy office. I can’t begrudge the little fella though, as much as he will be tiny babies take up a lot of space! So the task is now on to make the small office into something of beauty. A room I won’t feel claustrophobic in and a room I will be happy working in. First of all I have had a big clear out, I’ve cleared out a lot of files, samples, brouchers…..all gone! A complete de clutter so I can fit back into the small office. I have also had a think about colour schemes. Taking inspiration from my current wall planner (see below from not on the high street) I have decided on a light, bright look to make the room more airy!
Carrying on my current obsession with white, I will be having bright white walls finished off with yellow paint work to add a bit of brightness. With more yellow in the accessories this will be coupled with turquoise and pink accents. I have chosen my chair a gorgeous turquoise number (see the below board.) If you think these colors seem familiar, that’s because they are the colours of the Blog. I just love the colour combo, I think it’s clean, modern and fresh. I hope they will work well in my new office as I will be spending a lot of time in it. Painting will start in 2-3 weeks, so I will bring you the before and after shots then. You can see my full Office Ideas Inspiration board HERE . Once that is done, then it’s on with the nursery!
