Even though the blog has only been going a few weeks it’s clear that the family photography that I have featured so far has gone down a treat with you all and is increasingly popular. So today I am delighted to be able to bring you another set of wonderful family photos this time from my good friend Jay Emme. This laid back shoot sees us follow the Kendrick family to the beach, as we watch them play and have fun in the sunshine and then follow them home for dinner. If it seems there are a lot of children in the photos (7 children in fact) rest assured they all part of the same family and what a wonderful family it is!
I’ll pass you over to Mary the mother to tell you more about the shoot……..
We had decided this was going to be our last baby, so this was my last pregnancy. I had never quite got round to have any decent photos taken of me being pregnant as it were, heck I didn’t have many of the kids or of us either – pretty much the last formal photography session we had was when we got married! Once we’d decided we wanted some nice photos, it was really important to me that they were of a style we liked – beautiful but realistic and reportage style rather than posed.
It was even MORE important to me that we got on well with the photographer, that we could all relax and have a laugh and enjoy it all – in essence, that the photographer was a friend. Well, I already sort of knew Jay from twitter, and absolutely adored what I’d seen of her work, plus she came across as such a fun person, and I was quite right, it was an absolute hoot!
The family shoot at the beach was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done – it was literally just a fun family trip to the beach on an unseasonably nice day, with a friend chatting with us and taking a few photos. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the results, they were simply amazing.
I can’t think of one thing I didn’t like about the experience. My only complaint in fact, is that I’m not rich and famous and can’t employ Jay as our permanent photographer and have her follow us around documenting our life!
