Make up Review: Barely There Make Up

beauty review

Today I’d like to welcome our new resident beauty expert to the Blog the lovely Jenn Edwards. Jenn will be brining us regular hair, makeup and beauty reports and a little touch of  glamour to the blog. Today Jenn is talking to us about barely their make up. It seems that less is definitely more these days when it comes to make up so Jenn is going though her top 10 makeup products that give that oh so natural look.

I’ll pass the Blog over to Jenn……..

So we all know that when it comes to makeup less is often more right? It’s such a cliché. In our youth, we can’t wait to grow up, plastering our faces in heavy makeup to look older.  I so wish I could turn back time, but only to scrub all that makeup away and embrace my youthful and naked face.

It doesn’t help that I’m now influenced by todays latest makeup trend; Non-makeup. Or, rather, ‘invisible’ makeup that works with the use of light reflecting polymers to smooth skin and create the illusion of skin change without the use of color.  L’Oreal Instant Blur is a good example of this technology.
I appreciate that completely colorless cosmetics are not going to be right for everyone so, we’ll focus more on how to achieve that barely there look with innovative makeup magic  promising flawless complexions, lasting comfort, and a completely natural finish.

The question is; do they work, and which are the best?

In such a huge industry the options are endless.   Part of my role as a Makeup Artist involves a whole lot of research but never before have I felt so overwhelmed.  The online market place really is buzzing with new self claimed ‘magic potions’ and I now have a shopping list as long as my arm.  But decisions had to be made, and my final top ten found their way into this blog post, not only because they have my stamp of approval but, because they have the best independent reviews and are highly rated by both makeup professionals and end users.
I’ve also tried to find the best possible (secure) online prices too but please leave a comment if you know where we can find cheaper.   If you’ve tried a particular product that you don’t see below, please do share. I’d love to hear about it and why it gets your vote and I’m sure other readers will too.

Guerlain Meteorites Perles Finishing Powder – £26.62 from Buy In Beauty and Health

When white light passes through a prism, it separates into a spectrum of different colours. Inversely, all of these colours together recreate ideal light. This is the principle behind the decomposition and recomposition of light. In photography and film, white light is used to erase imperfections and soften features. In 1987, Guerlain decided to use this technology to add dazzling radiance to women’s faces and thus created Météorites…
In 2010, Météorites have added a new chapter to their legend. Evanescence, lightness, and transparency … They now come in 3 new colour harmonies, holding the secret to the purest radiance ever for each skin tone.
