Hi Kelly C here, I was so excited when Kelly H told me who would be featuring on the blog today, Jenn and Jess are amazing. Jess is a first class photographer who has featured on Boho Weddings a number of times, while Jenn is A Boho Life’s resident hair and beauty expert. I love Jess‘ work it’s totally beautiful and always looks like a work of art, I have followed her for such a long time. Jenn looks so amazing as a pregnant lady absolutely glowing and I’m sure you will agree looks absolutely beautiful in these images. Kelly H and I would also like to say a massive congratulations to Jenn for becoming regional finalist in the recent wedding industry awards.
A huge thanks goes out to Jess and Jenn for sharing these Boudoir maternity images with us today.
I will hand over the blog to Jenn to tell you more about her pregnancy and her shoot…..
I’m so excited about sharing my baby bump pics, before I saw them the thought of anyone seeing me in my underwear baring stretch marks, wobbly thighs and cellulite filled me with dread, but I really am delighted with them and can’t believe it’s me I’m looking at.
I’m very lucky to have a close friend, who just happens to be an amazing photographer and this shoot was her gift to me for which I’m truly very grateful.
At the time these were taken I was only 26 weeks pregnant. I realise most thought I was either full term at that point or expecting twins but the fact is; I grow very big babies! I’ve measured more than 6 weeks ahead throughout this pregnancy and my first baby Oliver, now 4 years old, was born 6 weeks premature when he ran out of room in my overstretched tummy. This in itself made me even more self conscious about my body being photographed on top of being already curvy and only 5’2 tall.
I was very nervous and stiff at the beginning of the shoot but Jess is no stranger to this thankfully. She has a calming and reassuring way about her when she’s working, she’s patient and understanding, and after a few warm up shots I soon relaxed and it became fun, and also comical at times.
I love the way Jess makes use of natural light and picks out interesting shadows to create beautifully soft and feminine images that really are a form of art, and this approach was definitely flattering for me and my body shape too.
I’ve loved being pregnant, it never ceases to amaze me how magical our bodies are and despite all the not so nice parts us ladies have to go through, the reward at the end makes it all so worth it. I’ve not got long left to go now and can’t wait to meet my little girl Phoebe, and will treasure these pictures of her growing inside my tummy forever.
